This year’s Ramathon and Ram 5 Mile events delivered success on many levels – but one standout achievement saw a Guiness World Record broken in truly memorable fashion.
On Sunday 28th June, a team of 10 runners from Tutbury Running Club took on the Ramathon half marathon dressed as a 60ft-long caterpillar. Their ambitious goal was to set a new Guiness World Record for the greatest number of people dressed as a caterpillar to complete a half marathon in under two hours.
Rising to the challenge, the team crossed the finish line within the target time, successfully securing the record and delighting spectators along the route.
Reflecting on their motivation, the group shared:
‘When you join a running club, you form a lifelong allegiance with the type of people who will always have your back.’
Their achievement perfectly captures the spirit of Run For All events – bringing communities together to take on personal challenges, support one another, and create unforgettable moments, whether for fundraising, fitness goals, or simply the joy of taking part.
The team at Run For All congratulates Tutbury Running Club on their incredible accomplishment and is proud that they chose Ramathon as the stage for this record-breaking success.
