The Arla Protein York 10K is set to take over the city’s streets this weekend, with organisers urging anyone hoping to take part to act fast as fewer than 50 places remain before the event reaches capacity.
Delivered by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All with title sponsor Arla Protein, the much-loved event is expected to sell out ahead of race day, with thousands of runners preparing to descend on York for what is shaping up to be the biggest York 10K yet.
Renowned for its electric atmosphere and iconic city-centre route, the event attracts participants of all ages and abilities, alongside hundreds of volunteers and spectators who help bring the day to life. With entries now nearing capacity, organisers are encouraging prospective runners to secure one of the final remaining places before they are gone.
Starting at 9.30am on Knavesmire Road, close to York Racecourse participants will enjoy a scenic route through the historic city, taking in famous landmarks including Clifford’s Tower, York Minster and the city’s medieval walls, before crossing the finish line back on the Knavesmire.
The event’s popularity is reflected across the day’s programme, with the Mini and Junior races, which get underway from 12 noon, already sold out.
As with all Run For All events, the Arla Protein York 10K plays a vital role in supporting charitable causes across Yorkshire and beyond. Every entry helps raise funds for good causes, including event partner charities The Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Family Fund, RSPCA, St Leonard’s Hospice, The Hut York, York Against Cancer, York Carers Centre, York City Foundation, York Down Syndrome Support Group and Mind York.
With demand at an all-time high and no additional places available once the event reaches capacity, organisers are encouraging runners not to leave it too late.
Tristan Batley-Kyle, Operations Director at Run For All said: ‘We are incredibly excited to be just days away from what is set to be the biggest Arla Protein York 10K we have ever staged.
‘With fewer than 50 places remaining, we’re urging anyone who is thinking about taking part to sign up now to avoid missing out. The response this year has been phenomenal and we’re expecting the event to sell out.
‘The York 10K has become one of the highlights of the running calendar, bringing together runners, volunteers, charities and supporters for an unforgettable day. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to the start line this weekend.’
