On Sunday 3 May, runners of all ages and abilities will lace up their running shoes to take on the Bespak Grand East Anglia Run (GEAR) 10K – one of the region’s most scenic and well-loved running events – in the historic town of King’s Lynn, Norfolk.
Organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All, with Bespak proudly supporting as title sponsor, the event will see participants set off at 9.30am on a picturesque route through the heart of the town. The course takes in King’s Lynn town centre, the River Ouse pathway and The Walks, before looping back to the iconic Tuesday Market Square. Along the way, runners will pass some of the town’s most famous landmarks, including the Custom House, Red Mount and Greyfriars Tower.
With charity at its core, the Bespak GEAR 10K is set to raise thousands of pounds for a range of local and national causes. Every entry provides the opportunity to support a chosen charity, with participants encouraged to fundraise for a cause close to their heart or one of the event’s partner charities, including the 8:56 Foundation, Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Linnets in the Community, Mind Norfolk and Waveney, and WNDA.
As well as being a fantastic fundraising event, the race promises to bring a real buzz to King’s Lynn, with spectators, volunteers and entertainment groups lining the course to cheer runners on, ensuring participants feel supported and celebrated from start to finish.
And the celebrations continue beyond the finish line, where all runners will receive a goody bag filled with post-race treats and a commemorative finisher’s medal to wear with pride.
Kevin Reid, Site Manager at Bespak, said: ‘We are really looking forward to a fantastic day for the GEAR 10K, Corporate Challenge and the Mini GEAR. Whether you’re taking part for charity fundraising, personal achievement or simply for fun, we wish all participants the very best of luck and hope everyone has an enjoyable and memorable experience.’”
Tristan Batley-Kyle, Operations Director at Run For All, added:
“We are excited to be back in King’s Lynn for the Bespak GEAR 10K. It’s always a fantastic day for both fundraising and bringing the whole community together.
“We look forward to welcoming everyone taking part – whether they’re setting themselves a personal challenge, enjoying a day out in the community or raising money for charity. We hope all runners have a memorable and enjoyable race day.”
As this event often sells out, those hoping to take part are encouraged to sign up early to avoid disappointment.
