As Yorkshire prepares to celebrate its annual day of pride on 1th August, runners are being encouraged to mark the occasion by signing up for some of the county's biggest and most iconic race events. From Sheffield to York and Leeds, thousands will come together this autumn to experience the community spirit, pride and passion for which the region is renowned.
The occasion celebrates the county's rich heritage, strong sense of community and breathtaking landscapes. From the rolling Moors and historic cities to its welcoming people and vibrant culture, it shines a spotlight on the qualities that make Yorkshire one of the UK's most treasured regions.
For Jane Tomlinson's Run For All, the county is where it all began. What started with the Leeds 10K has grown into a nationwide events portfolio featuring 5Ks, 10Ks, 10-mile races, half marathons and marathons, inspiring hundreds of thousands of people to get active and achieve their goals.
To mark the celebrations, organisers are inviting runners of all abilities to show their county pride by taking on one of four flagship events taking place across the region this autumn. From September to November, thousands of participants will enjoy memorable routes, fantastic support and the welcoming atmosphere that has become synonymous with running events in Yorkshire.
Whether aiming for a personal best, tackling a first race or fundraising for a cause close to their heart, there's an event to suit every runner. With enthusiastic crowds, spectacular scenery and distances ranging from 10K to marathon, these events offer a unique way to experience the very best the county has to offer.
The autumn series begins with the Sheffield 10K, a popular event that kicks off the season in one of the region's most vibrant cities. Next comes marathon weekend in York, featuring both the Altra Yorkshire Marathon and Altra Yorkshire 10 Mile. Known for their flat, fast routes and electric atmosphere, the events attract everyone from first-time runners to experienced athletes chasing new personal bests.
Rounding off the series is the legendary Leeds Abbey Dash, one of the UK's most famous and fastest 10Ks. With outstanding crowd support and a reputation for producing quick times, the event provides a fitting finale to the autumn running calendar.
There's no better way to celebrate the county's heritage, community spirit and sense of pride than by joining thousands of fellow runners on the start line and taking part in some of its most loved race days.
