On Sunday 28th June, the city of Derby will welcome thousands of runners as two of the region’s biggest mass participation events – the Ramathon and RAM 5 Mile – make their much-anticipated return.
Organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All – the UK’s largest not-for-profit events company – the races are set to raise tens of thousands of pounds for a range of deserving charities, including Derbyshire Cricket Foundation, Family Support Derbyshire, the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, My Aware, and Over The Wall, among many others.
Both events will start and finish in Derby’s Cathedral Quarter on Iron Gate. The fast, flat half marathon will set off at 9.15am, taking runners on a 13.1-mile route past some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including the Florence Nightingale statue, Elvaston Castle, and Pride Park Stadium.
Just 15 minutes later, at 9.30am, the RAM 5 Mile will begin, following a scenic course through the city centre towards Pride Park before looping back to the same finish line.
Spectators are expected to line the streets to cheer on particpants, creating a vibrant and supportive atmosphere throughout the morning. Runners can also look forward to a celebratory finish, with every participant receiving a medal and goody bag packed with well-earned post-race treats.
Participants of all ages and abilities are encouraged to take part in what promises to be a fantastic day for the whole community. Entries for both events are still open. For more information or to sign up, visit: Ramathon | Run For All | Run For All
Tristan Batley-Kyle, Operations Director at Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All, commented: ‘We’re thrilled to be returning to Derby for both the Ramathon and RAM 5 Mile – two events that really showcase the city as its best. Having a range of distances means there truly is something for everyone, whether you’re chasing a personal best, taking on your first challenge, or simply looking to be part of a fantastic community atmosphere.
‘These events are about bringing people together, celebrating the local community and raising vital funds for charities. We’d encourage anyone thinking about getting involved to sign up and be part of what promises to be a memorable day.’
