King’s Lynn Ready to Welcome Runners for Bespak GEAR 10K

A number of roads in the town will be closed or have restricted access to ensure the safety of those taking part.
Thousands of runners will be heading to Kings Lynn on Sunday 3rd May for the return of the much-loved road running event, the Bespak GEAR 10K road race.
Organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All, in partnership with King’s Lynn Council, the event will see runners take on a 10km course through the town, starting and finishing in Tuesday Market Place, with the race getting underway at 9.30am.
To ensure the safety of participants, spectators and volunteers, a number of road closures, parking suspensions and traffic restrictions will be in place throughout the day. Residents, businesses and visitors are advised to plan their journeys in advance.
Road and junction closures, along with the suspension of several Traffic Regulation Orders, will be in force between 4.30am and 4.00pm on Sunday 3 May.
Parking suspensions will also be required along sections of the route, including London Road, Milfleet, St Ann’s Street, St James’ Road, St James’ Street, Stonegate Street, Boal Street, King Street and Tuesday Market Place, from 4.30am to 1.00pm.
Road closures around the start and finish area at Tuesday Market Place will begin at 4.30am, with all parking bays suspended from this time.
Additional route closures will be enforced from 8.30am, affecting roads including King Street, Purfleet Place, South Quay, Boal Street, Church Street, Saturday Market Place, Norfolk Street, Tower Street, St James’ Street, Stonegate Street, Milfleet, St James’ Road, London Road, Wisbech Road and Clenchwarton Road, as well as other roads along the route.
The final route closures are expected to re‑open by 1.00pm, with the start and finish area fully reopened by 4.00pm.
