A brand-new festive event is coming to Leeds this winter, with thousands of Santas expected to take to the city centre streets for the Trinity Leeds Santa Dash on Sunday 6th December 2026.
Entries are now open for the festive 5K fun run, organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All, which promises a morning packed with Christmas spirit, community atmosphere and fundraising, while welcoming participants of all ages and abilities.
Designed to be inclusive and accessible, the Trinity Leeds Santa Dash is open to everyone, whether they choose to run, jog, or walk the route. Families, friends, colleagues, schools and community groups are all encouraged to get involved and kick-start the festive season together.
Run For All are delighted to have Trinity Leeds on board as title sponsor for the festive fun, with the start and finish line in the heart of Leeds' most popular shopping district, giving participants the perfect opportunity to get ahead on Christmas shopping after the race.
As with all Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All events, funds raised will help support charitable causes, including this year’s official partner charity, Leeds Hospitals Charity. Every participant will have the opportunity to make a difference while enjoying a unique festive experience in the heart of the city.
With a sea of red suits, plenty of seasonal cheer and a welcoming atmosphere for all, the Leeds Santa Dash is set to become a memorable addition to the city’s Christmas calendar.
Tristan Batley-Kyle, Operations Director at Jane Tomlinson's Run For All, said:
"We're delighted to launch the Trinity Leeds Santa Dash and bring a fantastic new festive event to the city this December. We're looking forward to seeing the streets of Leeds filled with Santas coming together to celebrate the festive season, support charity and enjoy a fun day out."
"The event is open to all ages and abilities, making it the perfect opportunity for families, friends, colleagues and community groups to get active together. Whether you're running, jogging or walking, we'd encourage everyone to sign up early and join us for what promises to be a brilliant festive celebration."
Steven Foster, Centre Director at Trinity Leeds, said:
“Christmas is always a special time and we’re proud to be partnering with Run For All to bring the Santa Dash to the heart of the city, while helping to raise vital funds for the Leeds Hospitals Charity.
“The sight of thousands of Santas taking to the streets will create a wonderful atmosphere with families, friends and colleagues sharing a fun, festive Sunday in the city in the lead up to Christmas. We’re really looking forward to seeing that sea of red on the start and finish line here at Trinity Leeds in December.”
Giles Fretwell, of Leeds Hospitals Charity, said:
“We’re really pleased to be Official Charity Partner for this year’s Leeds Santa Dash. The funds raised through this will help us do things that can have a huge impact on the experience people have in our hospitals, especially at Christmas. For patients who are spending the festive season away from home, it can be an incredibly difficult time.”
“The support of people taking part in the Santa Dash helps us to provide those little extras that bring comfort, lift spirits and help make hospitals feel a little less daunting. We’re looking forward to seeing the people of Leeds pull on their Santa suits and get behind their local hospitals. "
