Thousands of participants are preparing to head to Scarborough on Sunday 11th October for the return of the popular McCain Yorkshire Coast events.
A firm fixture in the autumn running calendar, the event continues to grow in popularity, with both the 10K and Fun Run now sold out and only a limited number of places remaining for the 5K.
Open to runners of all ages and abilities, the events offer something for everyone, whether taking on a first-ever race, chasing a personal best or simply enjoying a day out by the coast. Combining stunning seaside scenery with a fantastic race-day atmosphere, participants can look forward to a memorable experience from start to finish.
The 10K race will begin and end at Scarborough Spa, taking runners on a scenic route around South Bay, past the harbour, around the headland and into North Bay. The course also passes through the Open Air Theatre before returning to the Spa for a spectacular finish.
The 5K will get underway shortly afterwards at 10:05am, followed by the Fun Run at 11:30am, creating a full morning of running and community celebration.
Whether participants are running with friends, representing a local club, fundraising for charity or simply taking on a personal challenge, they can expect a welcoming and inclusive event. In keeping with Run For All's commitment to making running accessible to everyone, entrants are encouraged to walk, jog or run their chosen distance.
Participants will also be helping to support both charitable and environmental initiatives. Continuing a popular event tradition, all finishers will receive a distinctive slate medal, while a tree will be planted on their behalf in partnership with McCain Foods. Runners are also encouraged to raise funds for a charity of their choice or one of the event's partner charities, helping to make a meaningful difference in communities across the region.
Tristan Batley-Kyle, Operations Director at Run For All, said: “We're looking forward to welcoming thousands of runners to Scarborough for what promises to be another fantastic McCain Yorkshire Coast event."
"It's brilliant to see both the 10K and Fun Run sell out once again, with only a small number of places remaining in the 5K. The continued popularity of the event is a testament to the incredible support we receive from participants, volunteers, partners and the local community."
"Whether people are aiming for a personal best, fundraising for a cause close to their heart or simply enjoying the experience, we wish everyone the very best of luck and hope they have an unforgettable day on the Yorkshire coast."
Andrew Hoff, Managing Director, at McCain GB&I, commented: "As a business with deep roots in Scarborough, it's fantastic to see runners of all ages and abilities embracing the opportunity to challenge themselves, connect with their local community and enjoy everything this iconic coastal event has to offer. We wish all those participating good luck with the race!"
