Sheffield 10K raises thousands for charity as runners unite

Thousands of runners, volunteers and spectators came together in Sheffield today for the return of the Sheffield 10K, creating a fantastic celebration of running, fundraising and community spirit. The event was followed by the ever-popular Mini and Junior races, which inspired the next generation of runners to get involved.

Starting in the heart of the city on Arundel Gate, participants took on a scenic route through some of Sheffield’s most iconic green spaces, including Endcliffe Park, Bingham Park and the Botanical Gardens, before heading back into the city centre for a memorable finish-line experience.

As with all Run For All events, charity remained at the heart of the day. Thousands of pounds were raised for a wide range of local and national causes, including the event's partner charities Framework, Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Paces, Rain Rescue, Roundabout, Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity, Sheffield Young Carers, Sheffield Futures, St Luke's and Sheffield Cat Shelter. The event once again demonstrated the power of running to make a positive difference in communities across the region.

While fundraising and personal achievement were central to the day's success, there was also fierce competition at the front of the field, with some of the region's leading athletes battling for top honours.

In the men's race, Leo Cossham claimed victory in a time of 31:56. Daniel Hallam secured second place in 32:18, while Jake Leng completed the podium in third with a time of 32:53.

The women's race saw Claire Frankland take the win in an impressive 36:01. Hannah Morrison finished second in 37:53, closely followed by Charlotte Slack, who claimed third place in 38:14.

Adding to the excitement, the Mini and Junior events gave hundreds of young runners the opportunity to experience the thrill of race day, crossing the finish line to enthusiastic cheers from family and friends. The Corporate Challenge also returned, bringing together businesses and organisations from across the region to compete as teams, adding an extra element of camaraderie and friendly competition to the day.
