The countdown is on for the Lincoln Half Marathon as thousands prepare to take on the challenge

Thousands of runners are gearing up for the return of the Lincoln Half Marathon, with participants of all ages and abilities set to take to the start line at the Lincolnshire Showground on Sunday 4^th October.

Starting at 9.30am, runners will embark on a scenic 13.1-mile journey through the historic city of Lincoln, passing some of its most iconic landmarks along the way. The route showcases the best of the city, including Lincoln Castle, Lincoln Cathedral and the University of Lincoln, before returning to the Lincolnshire Showground for a memorable finish-line celebration.

The event is expected to attract runners from across the region and beyond, with participants taking part for a variety of reasons, from achieving a personal best and completing their first half marathon to fundraising for a cause close to their heart.

As with all Run For All events, charity remains at the heart of the Lincoln Half Marathon. Collectively, participants are expected to raise thousands of pounds for good causes, including the event's official partner charities Carers First, Lincoln City Foundation, Framework, Jerry Green Dog Rescue, Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, Lincolnshire Action Trust, LIVES and RSPCA.

Organisers are encouraging people of all abilities to get involved, whether that means wheeling, walking, jogging or running their way around the course. With places still available, there is still time for aspiring participants to secure their place and be part of one of Lincoln's biggest community sporting events.
