Thousands of runners, volunteers, and supporters are set to descend on York next month as the 2026 Arla Protein York 10K returns on the 2nd August, bringing another day of energy, fundraising and celebration to the historic city.
Delivered by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All in partnership with Arla Protein, the popular event attracts participants of all ages and abilities each year, alongside hundreds of volunteers and spectators who line the route to cheer them on.
Arla Protein returns as title sponsor for 2026, continuing a partnership built on a shared commitment to encouraging active lifestyles and creating opportunity for communities to come together through sport.
The much-loved race takes runners on a scenic tour of York’s most recognisable landmarks, including Clifford’s Tower, York Minster, and the city’s famous medieval walls. Starting at 9.30am on Knavesmire Road, close to York racecourse, participants will follow a city-centre route before crossing the finish line back on the Knavesmire.
As with all Run For All events, the Arla Protein York 10K provides an important fundraising platform for charities across the region and beyond. Entrants are encouraged to raise money for a cause close to their heart or support one of the event’s partner charities, which include; the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Family Fund, RSPCA, St Leonard’s Hospice, The Hut York, York Against Cancer, York Carers Centre, York City Foundation, York Down Syndrome Support Group, and Mind York.
There’s also plenty on offer for younger runners, with the York Mini and Junior Runs getting underway from 12pm.
Designed for children aged 3 – 8, the 1.5km Mini Run sees youngsters take part alongside a parent or guardian, while the 2.5km Junior Run is open to children aged 9 – 14.
Every young participant will receive a commemorative medal at the finish line, along with a selection of post-run goodies to celebrate their achievement.
Tristan Batley-Kyle, Operations Director at Run For All commented: "Excitement is already building for the return of the Arla Protein York 10K this August. With thousands of participants set to take to the streets of York, it's shaping up to be another memorable day of achievement, fundraising and celebration."
