Entries for the much-loved McCain Yorkshire Coast events opened this morning (1 June) – and demand has been immediate, with more than half of all 10K places snapped up in under three hours. With capacity limited and entries continuing to sell fast, organisers are urging anyone considering taking part to sign up as soon as possible to avoid missing out.
Taking place on Sunday 11 October, the event promises a memorable race-day experience, combining a stunning coastal route with a vibrant atmosphere. Open to runners of all ages and abilities, the event offers a range of distances, ensuring there is something for everyone – whether taking on a first race or targeting a new personal best.
A firm fixture in the autumn racing calendar, the McCain Yorkshire Coast continues to grow in popularity, following its debut in the Run For All portfolio last year. The rapid pace of entries this year underlines its increasing appeal, with the event fast becoming a must-do for runners across the region and beyond.
Participants in the 10K will start and finish at Scarborough SPA, following a scenic coastal route around South Bay, past the harbour, around the headland and into North Bay. The course then passes through the Open-Air Theatre before returning to the SPA for a memorable finish.
Whether running as part of a club, fundraising for a cause close to their heart, or simply taking in the atmosphere, entrants can expect a welcoming and rewarding experience. Reflecting Run For All’s commitment to inclusivity, participants of all abilities are encouraged to walk, jog or run the course.
By taking part, runners will also support sustainability and fundraising initiatives. Continuing established event traditions, all finishers will receive a distinctive slate medal, while a tree will be planted on their behalf in partnership with McCain Foods. Runners are also encouraged to fundraise for a charity of their choice or one of the event’s official partners, helping to make a positive impact in local communities.
Tristan Batley-Kyle, Director of Operations at Run For All said: ‘It’s fantastic to see such strong demand for the Yorkshire Coast 10K, with places being snapped up so quickly. It’s a brilliant community event and one we’re incredibly proud to deliver.
“With its stunning coastal route, incredible local support and strong fundraising element, it’s an event not to be missed – so we’d encourage anyone thinking about taking part to sign up now before entries completely sell out.’
