Event information
The RAM 5 Mile is a great event for runners of all ages and abilities, providing a great boost for charities in a fun and friendly environment.
The 5-mile race features the same start and finish line as the Ramathon, setting off from Silk Mill Park. Participants will follow the same route as the half marathon, running through the city centre for the first 2 miles before making their way towards Derby County’s Pride Park Stadium.
Runners will then head back towards the city centre, finishing their journey where they began at Silk Mill Park. The route passes by some of Derby’s iconic landmarks, such as the gothic cathedral, and the Florence Nightingale monument.
Why run this event?
The Ramathon draws in amazing crowds each year, so be sure to give the spectators a wave as you make your way around the course.
The 5-mile distance is great for anyone who still wants a challenge, but might not feel ready to tackle the half marathon distance just yet. It is also a very flat and accessible course, great for runners of any and all abilities.

Sustainablity
Keeping Derby green
We are committed to keeping Derby green and we understand the importance of doing our bit for the environment. Bins will be provided across the event site and we urge people to use the facilities provided.
It is important that we leave the course the way we found it. Recycling bins will be provided on course at each water station and we ask that you use them. If you want to hand on to your water beyond the provided bins, please pass any litter to your nearest marshal.
Let’s work together to Keep Derby green and encourage other runners to do the same.
