Event information

Join us in Leeds for one of our most special events - the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon.

Former Leeds Rhinos player Rob Burrow was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in December of 2019. Since then, Rob and his family have campaigned tirelessly to raise awareness and funds to support other families like theirs living with MND.

The first Leeds Marathon saw over 10,000 participants take to the streets of Leeds. Since his passing, the marathon has become a fitting tribute to the city that launched Rob's career, and the place which he called home.

The event will be held in support of the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease Appeal, as well as the MND Association. Participants are also encouraged to raise money for a charity of their choice, or one of our other partner charities.

Why run this event?

This 26.2 mile route takes runners from Headingley Stadium north of the city through Meanwood before heading around the beautiful Golden Acre Park. The course then takes you out into the historic towns of Bramhope and Otley before heading down Leeds Road and back towards the stadium for a memorable finish.

The Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon has an electric atmosphere, as people come to the city from all over to support out runners on what promises to be an unforgettable day.

What's included?

  • Finisher medal
  • Chip timings
  • Goody bag
  • Optional finishers t-shirt

Entrants must be aged 18 years or older on the day of the event.

Run For All encourages people of all abilities to take part in the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon. Please get in touch if you require any further assistance on the day of the race, or have any specific requirements.

All you need to know

All you need to know

Event Village

Location and opening hours will be detailed on our website in the build-up to the event.

There will be a variety of food and drink choices available for purchase to satisfy any pre and post-run needs. There are also several bars and cafes in the area that will welcome spectators and participants.

Our wonderful partner charities will also be located in the Event Village, so make sure to go say hi!

Baggage

Bags larger than an A4 sheet of paper will not be permitted in the stadium.
Please make sure you leave enough time before the event to drop off your bag in the designated baggage store.

Your baggage label is on your race number: please rip it off your race number and attach it to your bag when handing it over to our volunteers so your belongings can be safely looked after.

After the race, make your way to the baggage store as soon as possible to reclaim your belongings before you meet up with your loved ones to celebrate.

Toilets

Please only use the toilets allocated for this event. There will be plenty of toilets located around the stadium and on the course which you will be able to use pre or post-race. Run For All operates a zero-tolerance policy, and any runners seen urinating anywhere other than the designated facilities will be disqualified.

Pacers

We will have friendly pacers on the course, sponsored by Arla Protein, who can help you stick to your intended finish time. They'll have flags attached to them with finish times, so you can choose the best place to suit you.

Fuel & Hydration

We will have water stations fixed throughout the course where you will be able to pick up a 330ml bottle of water. To see the exact locations of the water stations, please refer to the route map.

Please make use of the bins provided post-water stations.

Applied Nutrition energy stations will also be available on course, handing out Applied Nutrition Isotonic Drinks and Applied Nutrition Energy Gels.

Medical

First aid will be available along the course at fixed first aid stations located near the water stations.

There will also be a first aid unit and recovery unit located near the finish line, as well as roaming first aiders around the Event Village.

Sustainability

info Keeping Leeds green

Recycling bins will be provided on course at each water station - we ask that you please use these to help us do our bit for the environment. If you wanted to hold on to your water beyond the provided bins, please pass any litter to your nearest marshal when finished.

We are in partnership with JogOn to help reduced the environmental impact that large running events can have. By working with JogOn, we help to reduce the waste of running shoes that end up in landfill every year by giving them a new life. Trainers are either reused by giving them to those in need, or shredded and their remains used for other purposes.
Drop off stations will be made readily available throughout the Event Village for you to drop off any old or unwanted trainers so they can be given a new lease of life.

We encourage our participants to travel sustainably where possible by taking public transport or car sharing to reduce traffic emissions.

Headphones on Event Day

You are allowed to wear headphones as you make your way around the course, however they must be bone conducting. We ask that the volume is kept low to ensure that you can hear the marshal's instructions, as well as any emergency vehicles or your fellow competitors.

Our official headphone partner Shokz uses bone conducting technology to ensure you can still hear your surroundings. There is a 15% discount offer for all Run For All entrants.

To receive this discount, entrants must purchase Shokz headphones via Up & Running and use our specific code. To receive the discount code, please contact our admin team via the contact form.
