Jane and Clare’s mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2025 – news that Jane describes as a “devastating blow” to the family and something that was “a lot to process.”
In a very short space of time, their mum shared her diagnosis, along with plans for surgery and the treatment that would follow. For Jane and her siblings, it all felt overwhelming, happening so quickly and bringing with it a wave of uncertainty.
Despite this, Jane speaks with admiration about her mum, describing her as “a strong and courageous lady who has brought us up to fight for what is right and never give up.” Those values, she says, have shaped them throughout their lives and guided how they faced this difficult time together.
Following treatment, Jane’s mum was given the all-clear from breast cancer – an outcome the family are incredibly grateful for. However, the experience has left a lasting impact on them all.
Now, the family are determined to use their journey to help others. By sharing their story, they hope to offer support and reassurance, reminding anyone facing a similar diagnosis that they are not alone.
